Finding Dissertations and Theses 

  1. Search Dissertations & Theses (ProQuest) database. It includes the full text of many dissertations, including those written at DePaul, in PDF format. 
  2. Next, try the NDLTD: Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations.
  3. In some cases, it is possible to borrow a hardcopy of a dissertation using interlibrary loan. To do so, search by title in the LibrarySearch tool. If the dissertation is found, sign in, and follow prompts for requesting via Interlibrary Loan. The DePaul University Library does not purchase reproductions of dissertations for individuals. 

NOTE: Options are limited for international dissertations, but start with the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (NDLTD), which includes links to and the Center for Research Libraries and EThOS, a service of the British Library which provides the full text of many dissertations after free registration.

In ProQuest, you can focus on documents produced here at DePaul by searching in Dissertations & Theses @ DePaul University. In addition, try the following:

  1. For recent DePaul dissertations and theses, you can browse our institutional repository, Digital Commons@DePaul
  2. To see what we have available in print format (typically pre-2000 dissertations and theses), search the LibrarySearch tool.To find examples of theses DePaul students have written in a particular academic department, use the Advanced Search option. Enter the word DePaul on the first line, thesis on the second line and the name of the department or a relevant keyword on the third line.
